For almost every programming language, there are many related software programs available. JavaScript is also one of those languages. There are various softwares, text-editors and techniques you can use to program in JavaScript, but in this article, I shall show you two methods to create JavaScript file, which are listed below.

Create JavaScript file using Text Document:

One of the best things about JavaScript for Web Development is that you do not necessarily have any dedicated program. You can write JavaScript code in a text file (.txt) and then later rename it and change its extension to (.js). 1) Create a text file by right clicking, and select remain by selecting the newly created file. enter image description here

2) Change the extension (.txt) to the JavaScript extension (.js). enter image description here

3) Then it will ask your permission to whether you want to change its extension or not. Click YES! Now you would notice the icon of the file would be changed as show below. enter image description here

Use Sublime Text for Development (Recommended)

Wouldn’t it be cool if you have a colorful, well-organized, indented code? If you are seeking the answers of the aforementioned wishes, I would highly recommend using Sublime Text 3.

Sublime Text is the sophisticated text editor for code, markup and prose. In order to download it, all you need to do is to go to and download the latest version depending upon the Operating System (OS) that you are using.

Downloading and installing steps are explicitly and clearly mentioned in the link mentioned above. If you encounter any problem about installing the Sublime Text, you should comment down below. I shall try to resolve your issue.
